Wednesday, back in the early 70's at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, was "Movie Night".They showed student and art films, it was free and the public was invited. In the small amphitheater, there were steps to sit on before the movie seats. Bette Midler and Carol Kane were watching the film in the seats. Bette and Carol were new rising stars at the time. I wanted to sit near them. Bad idea, Arthur! I inched my way up the steps a little at a time so as not to be noticed. In a loud voice Bette say's "Get a loud of this guy!" They might as well have put a spotlight on me! Arthur

Brief Encounters

Back in my long hair hippie art school days while living in NYC. I was walking alone with my art portfolio. Andy Warhol and some of his entourage were coming out of a building.  Andy spotted me , (an obvious art student with the portfolio and all)  and starred at me for a time. I was taken back, but to shy to approach the icon and his troupe.   Lucky for me!
After Art school I lived in the Gramercy section of NYC with my cousin John Caglione (Oscar winner for his special effects make-up on Dick Tracy). At the time , John was working as make-up artist for the original Saturday Night Live (remember the cone heads ) . I went backstage with my brother John and my cousin John and bumped into John Belushi in the back stairwell at NBC on the way up to the make-up room. Everyone was looking for John B.  ,  Dan Ackroyd was frantic. I was introduced briefly. John was just being John.
